Everett Leroy Williams

The last of the great Montana Cowboys. This is the Last of the "Real Montana Cowboys". The photograph shows an example of what the meaning of life represented. Times were difficult, yet had a texture of simplicity which matched their life style. Trust in God and in their fellowman was the root of communal structure. Faith in God was the cornerstone of the home. Values and morals were honed at an early age by the parents. I was fortunate to have a father with these types of morals and values.

Everett Williams

was born in Sheridan, Wyoming on June 13, 1924. My father was raised 20 miles northeast of Decker, Mt. on the family ranch. He attended grade school at an one classroom school. The nearest high school was in Lodge Grass, Montana. He was drafted into the Army during World War II and therefore wasn't able to complete high school. He served his country with dignity and pride.

Alternative transportation Sometimes horses weren't always available, so the cowboy had to improvise to complete the tasks at hand. This photo of my father was taken at the family ranch near Decker, Montana.
